To date we have 19 sites coast to coast on board for hosting the Festivus Games. We have also unfortunately had to turn down several other great boxes because they were to close in proximity to other hosting sites. When I check through the registrations I can see an increase in sign ups. As the CrossFit Open comes to an end there will no doubt be a lot of interest from all you novice and intermediate CrossFitters out there. This is the perfect competition to get your feet wet on. You will be among your peers and the wods will be based on capacity ( think max lifts, timed runs/rows etc and you can get a feel for what I mean. I encourage you all to take the leap and compete. Based on our past Festivus competitions I can almost guarentee you will set a new p.r at this event!

So far we have secured 15 host sites across the country and with a few more coming on very soon. It’s still 6 months away but there are about 100 athletes signed up already. That’s a good start this far especially with all of us focusing on the CrossFit Open right now.
This is a great time to for those of you who are new to competing to register for the Festivus Games. The vast majority of us are not at the level that will get us to the Games. That’s why this competition was created. It is place for you to compete with your peers and challenge yourself. You will be tested on your capacity versus a high degree of skill. When you set a date for competition it will give puprose to your training. Creating an increased sense of urgency that will focus you to train harder, eat better and miss less workouts.
As we get closer to our our Agust 4th competition date this event is sure to sell out….everyone of them to date has. Don’t be the person wishing you had registered but are now locked out. Get on it now.

Rob Stafford…Festivus 2 mens intermediate 1st place winner
See you all in August.
Festivus 3, the last Festivus before we bring our concept national was a huge success. On every level from the spectrums of fitness being tested, gutsy displays of athleticism and just pure fun. We even had a DJ this time around to keep us all grooving throughout the day.

The first wod was a 1000m row followed by a 1000 m ski for time with a 12 minute cap. This one wasted the legs and the lungs.

The second wod was a chipper consisting of box jumps, sit ups,air squats, kettlebell swings and single/double unders. This also had a 12 minute cap and was a good balance for the feats of strength that were the last two wods.

Wod 3 was a max distance walk with the Conans Wheel. A specialty piece we had built for the competition and this one fried the entire body but especially the arms and lower back. Brutal.

The last wod was a Crucifix hold of various weights depending on class for max time. This one tested the resolve of everyone. How can something so simple be so hard?
With the close of Festivus 3 we are now in full swing for when Festivus goes national on August 4th. If you were lucky enough to compete in this one you know you will not want to miss the next one. If you missed the cut off for this one and want to compete in the next one don’t wait. Check the website and find the nearest hosting affiliate and get yourself registered before they sell out.
