The Festivus Games are over and we have our winners. Congratulations to all the athletes who competed. Especially those of you who overcame your fears about competing. You have taken a monumental step in your developement as a competitive CrossFit athlete.

Thank you also to all of our hosting affiliates. You all did a great job organzing your events and recruiting the army of volunteers it took to make this happen. Thank you to each and every volunteer who gave up the day to help out.

The Festivus Games  5.0 kicks off this Saturday at CrossFit boxes all around the country. All totaled  there are over 1350 athletes competing this time around. Novice and intermediate CrossFitters will perform 3 wods in one day .

Here are the 2013 Festivus Games wods.

1. 12 minutes to establish a 3 rep max ground to overhead. All 3 rep must be performed within a 45 second time period.Athletes may snatch,clean & jerk, Clean and push press or any other method that takes the weight from the floor to a locked out position overhead.

2. 21-15-9 Row for calories, thrusters and burpees. 10 minute cap

Novice weight  M-65lbs/ L-45lbs

Intermediate    M-75lbs/L-55lbs

Athletes needing a further scaling/reduction of prescribed weight may do so but will no longer be in contention for ranking and prizes.

3. Death by 10 meters.

At the top of the first minute, sprint 10 m, then rest the remainder of the minute.  At the top of the second minute, sprint 10 m twice, then rest the remainder of the minute.  Continue adding another 10 m sprint at the top of each minute until you can no longer make your sprints within the minute…

A complete description of wod standards will be given at the athletes briefing at each participating box.

The Festivus Games are almost here. We will be announcing the wods this coming Monday night here on the Festivus Games website. To date there are over 1350 athletes registered  to compete from around the country. For those of you traveling to CrossFit Relentless to compete we have something special for you in addition to a badass competition.

We have a full retail shop set up for you to poke around in between wods. We will be selling everything from our own complete line of CrossFit Relentless gear (shirts,fight shorts,hats,hoodies etc) , Again Faster equipment (bumper plates, bars, med balls, kettlebells, abmats). We will also be selling more gear from the guys at Afro Brutality, HTFU and CrossFit Football. We will also have various items from Stronger Faster Healthier and At Large Nutrition as well if you need an order of fish oil, protein powder or creatine.

Last but not least DJ Wheels of steel Ray pons will be keep you all moving with some kick ass music!

Here’s some shots from Festivus taken at CrossFit Oregon City. The crew at CFOC ran a tight ship and did it right. Congratulations to over 1500 Festivus throwdown competitors. The first national throwdown for novices and intermediates athletes only was a smashing success.
